Designer Pepe Heykoop has dressed them with leather furniture. To demonstrate that the loss in the leather industry is about 25-30% of all the production of furniture every year. The series is called
Leftover remnants of the material handsys to random patterns and recycled old furniture covered with it. The idea is that the old furniture get a new skin and the furniture can be used again in a new look.
Each piece is unique and the leather texture, thickness and appearance controls how the furniture will be. In the case of waste from industry so anything can happen appearance.
I like this stuff, think it's both stylish and it has a meaning and thought behind it.
